Antonio Stradivari (violin) Abergavenny – 1724 ca.

This instrument still bears an original label reading ‘Antonius Stradivarius Cremonensis Faciebat Anno 1714’, but according to Florian Leonhard, the ‘2’ has been removed and replaced with a ‘1’, possibly to place the violin in Stradivari’s ‘Golden Period’. The Hill Brothers have also suggested a production date of 1724–25.
