Antonio Stradivari (violin) Heberlein – 1700

This instrument still bears an original label that reads ‘Antonius Stradivarius Cremonensis Faciebat Anno 1700’ and it is named after the Swiss industrialist, Dr. Georg-Eduard Heberlein (1874–1957), of Wattwil, who, in addition to sponsoring civil aviation enterprises like those of Zeppelin and Mittelholzer, pursued a passion for music and was leader of the Orchesterverein Wattwil. Among other instruments, he also owned the Strad 1698 ‘Théonville’.
